Dear Parents/Caregivers of Room 11 Students,

Welcome back to another school year! I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable holiday. I look forward to meeting all the new faces in Room 11 this year. I’m also looking forward to catching up with parents, those I know and those new to the school. 

This letter is to just let you know a little about what will be happening this term, however more specific information can be found in the School Newsletter.

Year 7 and 8 Camp is from the 28^th – 31^st March at Hanmer Springs- more information will follow during the term.

This term the topics we will be looking into are Digital Citizenship followed by Conservation and the NZ Environment. Our curriculum subjects and special events this term will follow in our syndicate newsletter.

Library day is Wednesday this year and it would be a great help if children can remember to bring their books back on or before this day.

Homework will start in Week 3.  This will be in three parts - spelling, reading and finishing work.

Spelling - This will consist of 10 words sent home on Monday to learn and return on Friday. These words will be a mix of set words related to our word study activities and a number of personal words that have been misspelt during the week.

Reading – An electronic Reading Log will be filled out and checked on Friday to show what has been read during the week.

Finishing work - this will consist of tasks and activities not finished in class time or additional tasks.

CTK Day

Great day of celebrations today. Well done everyone who was involved in the Liturgy or helping with fun activities in the afternoon.

Zone Athletics

Well done to all students from Room 11 who represented CTK at the Northwest Zone Athletics today.  You trained hard, competed with passion and did the school proud.

Character Dress Up Day

 A great day today with all students dressing up in fantastic costumes. This led to some creative writing and imaginative storytelling. Thank you to all the parents that put in lots of hard work to create these outfits.

Singing National Anthem at NZ Dog Show

Well Done everyone involved in The National Dog Show you did yourself  and Christ The King proud. Top job Mrs Kerns 

Farm and Ski Trips

An amazing day had by all, a massive thanks all the parents who helped and to Mrs Abbott and Mr Atherton for their organization.

Speeches

The Christ The King Speech Finals were held today. Well done to all Students in Room 11 who wrote interesting and entertaining speeches. Harrison, Lizzy, Lydia, Billie-Rose, Katia and Marta represented Room 11 with pride today and we are very proud of you.
