CTK Day

Great day of celebrations today. Well done everyone who was involved in the Liturgy or helping with fun activities in the afternoon.

Zone Athletics

Well done to all students from Room 11 who represented CTK at the Northwest Zone Athletics today.  You trained hard, competed with passion and did the school proud.

Character Dress Up Day

 A great day today with all students dressing up in fantastic costumes. This led to some creative writing and imaginative storytelling. Thank you to all the parents that put in lots of hard work to create these outfits.

Singing National Anthem at NZ Dog Show

Well Done everyone involved in The National Dog Show you did yourself  and Christ The King proud. Top job Mrs Kerns 

Farm and Ski Trips

An amazing day had by all, a massive thanks all the parents who helped and to Mrs Abbott and Mr Atherton for their organization.

Speeches

The Christ The King Speech Finals were held today. Well done to all Students in Room 11 who wrote interesting and entertaining speeches. Harrison, Lizzy, Lydia, Billie-Rose, Katia and Marta represented Room 11 with pride today and we are very proud of you.

Mini-Olympics

A wonderful day had by all, both Year 7's, who lead their country around all the activities and Year 8's who ran the events, did a fantastic job and should be proud of themselves.

Buddy Class Mini-Olympics Math Week Challenge.

This week was New Zealand Mathematics Week and Room 11 and 3 incorporated the Olympics and measurement activities together to create a fun and educational Mini-Olympics.

Volleyball Final

Lots of new skills and hidden talents have been on display in our recent Volleyball unit.

Dinosaur Books with Buddy Class

Room 11 and Room 3 have just finished their wonderful Dinosaur Narratives. Lots of good ideas, facts and designs.

Technology

At Technology there are 5 rotations. They are: Food, Design, Workshop, Textiles and Art.
We have just finished the third rotation.

Welcome Back

Dear Parents/Caregivers of Room 11 Students,

Welcome back to another exciting term, I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable break.

This letter is just to let you know a little about what will be happening in Term Three.

Our topic this term is ‘Faster, Higher, Stronger’, an in-depth look into the Rio Olympics. We will explore the history of the Olympics, study Brazil, look at New Zealand’s history at the Olympics and look at New Zealand athletes and their build up to Rio. We will discuss controversial areas of the Olympics, explore the Olympic values and look into how technology has changed over the years.

This Term students will write and present speeches. They will explore information and exposition writing to assist in their speech writing. Speeches will be presented in classrooms later in the term. Further information will go home regarding dates for speeches in the coming weeks. 

Weekly winter sports will begin this Friday and students are reminded to ensure that they bring all the required gear. This term students will also participate in the Zone Winter Tournament in Week 2 and Canterbury Winter Tournament in Week 5 for those terms that qualify.

Homework will start today and will be the same as last term with 10 spelling words, completing an electronic reading log and finishing work.

Please check that your child still has all stationery needed in Room 11 including a red pen, ruler, pencils, eraser, compass and protractor, etc.

All dates and times of events and activities this term will follow in the School and Syndicate Newsletter including more information about Cantamath in Week 4 and the Senior Syndicate Ski trip in Week 9.

Great day and all students gained valuable skills.

North West Cross Country

Well done to all those who represented the school at the North West Cross Country.
Everyone who competed gave 100% and the results were amazing.
